Why does Ann Coulter hate Arabs & Muslims?
Syndicated columnist Ann Coulter harbors such rabid hatred toward Arabs and Muslims. One has to wonder why? This woman must have been dumped or rejected by an Arab in her past, or her parents are closely related. At least that is one popular explanation of why Osama Bin Laden hates America; it was an American woman whom he met once in Lebanon that rejected his advances.
So what is up with Ann Coulter? It is obvious after reading her hate literature and watching her interviews that she is nothing more than an ignorant bigot who has used the verbal equivalent of "shock and awe" to make a name for herself. The following is a mere sample of these tactics:
In 2001 stated, "America should invade Arab countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." Such a Christian attitude on her part should facilitate the conversion process immensely. This brand of religious sabre-rattling makes neoconservative ranting about a global "jihad" hypocritical and laughable.
In 2005, publicly insulted the legendary White House correspondent Helen Thomas when she wrote, "Press passes can't be hard to come by if the White House allows the old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president."
In February 2006, referred to Arabs as "camel jockeys" and suggested the U.S.bomb Syria back to the stone ages and disarm Iran. This was made in the wake of the burning of the Danish embassy in Syria. She sited U.S. obligations toward a NATO member nation, adding that burning the embassy is an act of war.
Coulter should be grateful that China did not declare war against the U.S. and start showering us with nukes during the Kosovo war when U.S. pilots destroyed their embassy in Belgrade.
We should also be happy that France did not share Coulter's hostile views when U.S. pilots bombed their embassy during 1986 bombing of Libya. France could have retiliated by asking us to give back the Statue of Liberty they gave us on July 4, 1885.
It is no wonder that some of Coulter's heroes growing up were people like Joe McCarthy, J. Edgar Hoover and Richard Nixon, all paranoid abusers of the power that came with their respective positions .
One also gets the feeling that she never met an Arab or a Muslim in her life . If she had, her list of heroes might be revised to include the following:
Private Nathan Badeen who came to America from Syria, fought and died liberating Boston from the British.
Christa McAuliffe who was chosen to be the first teacher in space,and who perished in the Challanger disaster in 1986. She was proud of her Arab-heritage.
John Abizeid, the four-star General who commanded U.S. forces in the Middle East, who happens to be of Arab descent. Coulter probably blames him our failure to capture Bin Laden!
Specialist David Rustum, a 22 year-old soldier from New York who was the first Arab-American to die in Iraq. His Syrian-born father suggested he could avoid combat by going to Syria. He repilied, "Dad, I would never do that. This is my country and I will do whatever it takes."
Captain Humayun Khan, 27, of Virgina, a Muslim soldier who died in Iraq while stopping an internal suicide bomber, preventing further loss of life on his base.
Nihad Awad, head of the American Council on Islamic Relations. He, too, risked his life while leading a Muslim delegation to Iraq to secure the release of American journalist Jill Carroll from captivity. His group aslo denounced the hostage-taking of four Christian Peacemakers in Iraq and has called for their immediate and unconditional release.
Sadly, Ann Coulter does not care about the sacrifices of brave Arab-Americans, Arabs and Muslims abroad, or even our own servicemen and women. She is a bigot who uses hatred and racial prejudice to further her career. Before advocating going to war or bombing another country, she should first pay her dues and enlist in the military.

If bigotry is a crime, the Loveland, Colorado Representative[District 51] will be doing hard time in jail for his ignorance and his twisted views.
If this is not ugly racism in its rawest form, then someone please tell me what racism is! This lawmaker referred to the black victims of Katrina as lazy people awaiting government help. Mr. Welker confound me even more by his e-mail to his constituents in which he stated, "Be aware of Islam in America." He claimed that Muslims cannot be patriotic and loyal American citizens. He added that their loyalty is to "mullahs" who call for the destruction of Israel and America. What kind of trash talk is that?
Had he made similar remarks about Jewish Americans being more loyal to Israel than to America, he would have been nationally condemned, forced to resign or censured in the House for his remarks. America's Muslims should not be fair game!
Insulting African-Americans and demeaning Muslims is not what one expects of a public official. Such comments are dangerous and reinforce negative images among the people of Loveland as well as Colorado. One gets the impression that Mr. Welker is using prejudice and racial division to advance his political career.
I wish to challenge Mr. Welker's false assumptions. First of all, there are over 10,000 Muslims serving currently in our Armed Forces. Muslim soldiers took part in every war and major conflict since the founding of our nation. More can be learned about Muslims' and Arabs' contributions in the defense of America by visiting the website of the Patriotic Arab-Americans in the Military www.apaam.org
I am an American and also a Muslim who wore the uniform with pride and served for 20 years with honor in our armed forces. Just before I retired my oldest son also enlisted in the military. In 2004, he served 10 months in Iraq. The last thing he said before he left home, " If I die, I want to be buried at Arlington!" I was stunned and speechless. Thank God he made it back alive and not in a body bag. My point is, he did not learn about patriotism and loyalty at school, he learned it at home. It was a slap in the face to read such an insult coming from a lawmaker.
Patriotism and loyalty is not just about waving Old Glory, it is about loving your country and respecting other citizens regardless of their views and religious preferences. Above all is to answer the call of duty when your country calls upon you. As Muslim-Americans, my son and I did. That begs the question: where is Welker's DD-214 Form?
